Job summary
UF Health in Gainesville, FL seeks an Outpatient L2 Pharmacy Technician focused on prior authorizations and medication access. You will review requirements, submit requests, and liaise with providers and payors to help patients obtain medicines.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication, meticulous organization, and experience with insurance navigation, prior authorizations, and EMR systems in a pharmacy setting.
Qualifications
- Registered with Florida Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
- L2 technicians must have CPhT or XCPT certification within 6 months of hire.
- Meet all requirements of a Pharmacy Technician Level 1.
- 12 months of Shands Pharmacy Technician experience or 6 months with additional requirements.
- Experience with insurance and billing for ambulatory practices highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Review insurance requirements for prior authorizations.
- Submit and track prior authorization requests.
- Communicate with providers and payors.
- Help ensure timely access to medications for patients.
