Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Full-Time Outpatient Pharmacist to join our ambulatory care team. You will review medication orders for ambulatory patients, ensure appropriateness and safety, and collaborate with clinicians to optimize therapy.

You will rotate between the Shands Outpatient Pharmacy and Medical Plaza Pharmacy, providing direct patient care and leveraging clinical knowledge in a collaborative academic health system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
• Previous ambulatory practice and knowledge of insurance.
• Strong communication skills, able to operate a computer and interact in a clinic environment.

Responsibilities

Full-Time Outpatient Pharmacist – UF Health Shands

Gainesville, Florida | Full-Time

Join the pharmacy team at UF Health Shands Hospital as a Full-Time Outpatient Pharmacist and help provide exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients across UF Health.

In this role, you will provide pharmaceutical care to patients of UF Health Shands Hospital and University of Florida clinics, with responsibilities rotating between the Shands Outpatient Pharmacy and Medical Plaza Pharmacy.

As an Outpatient Pharmacist, you will use your clinical knowledge and professional judgment to evaluate medication orders for ambulatory patients, helping ensure medications are appropriate, safe, and effectively managed. You will work collaboratively with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Graduation from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy. Previous experience in ambulatory practice and knowledge of insurance. Strong communication skills, able to operate a computer and interact in a clinic environment. Pharm.D. and knowledge of a clinic specialty a plus.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:Employees in this position:Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.Licensure/Certification/Registration:Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida
