Job summary

Austin Oaks Hospital in South Austin, Texas is seeking a Transportation VAN Driver to provide transportation services for patients attending outpatient programs at our San Marcos branch, 1330 Wonder World Dr #108, San Marcos TX 78666.

Duties include to ensure safe and timely transportation; milieu management and crisis intervention. Patients served include adolescents and adults.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: minimum of one year of college.
• Current CPR certification or ability to pass CPR training during initial employment period.
• Preferred: one year driver experience for hospital or psychiatric services.
• Read and write legibly; communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Knowledge of Texas driving laws.
• Patience and tact for patient interactions.

Qualifications

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

Licensure / Certification

Experience

• Required: None required.
• Preferred: One year driver experience for hospital or psychiatric services.

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift, carry, and/or lower items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Ability to stand and walk 6+ hours per day, frequent bending, stooping and reaching to check or move equipment.
• Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions.
