The role includes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation under supervision, with potential delegation to support staff.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current state RN licensure.
Current CPR/BLS Certification.
Entry-level RN with 0–2 years nephrology nursing experience.
Minimum 9 months RN experience and 3 months dialysis experience.

Responsibilities

Collect and analyze patient data during dialysis and document in the medical record.
Adjust treatment plan as indicated; notify supervisor if needed.
Educate patients and families about care needs and therapies.
Direct and coordinate daily delivery of safe hemodialysis care with the team.
Administer medications as prescribed or per protocol.
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
Serve as a resource and assist in staff training and orientation.
Ensure correct lab collection and processing; manage missed labs.
Update nursing assessments and care plans with the inter-disciplinary team.
Educate patients on transplant options and treatment modalities.
Complete CAP requirements to advance; perform other duties as assigned.
