Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Professional Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 program. You will coordinate and provide clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, under supervision and with the support of the Clinical Educator and healthcare team.

You will participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations within the ESKD

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential functions under supervision and guidance of the Clinical Educator or RN supervisor.
• Collect and analyze patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; document and adjust treatment plan as needed.
• Assess and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education.
• Direct and provide safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; document justification and effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures as required.
• Serve as a resource; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff.
