The role you’ll contribute:

The Coding Quality Auditor, under supervision of the Outpatient Coding Manager, is responsible for internal coding audits and clinical quality reviews. The auditor will work with the Outpatient Operations Manager to ensure data integrity, educate and train coding staff, and serve as a resource organization-wide on coding issues. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Code and abstract charts according to ICD-10-CM, CPT, and guidelines, adhering to Medicare and payor requirements.
• Assist in resolving departmental issues promptly.
• Mentor and educate other coders.
• Discuss documentation and optimization with physicians to ensure accurate coding; query physicians for clarification as needed.
• Follow AHIMA ethical standards.
• Review payer denials and maintain productivity standards, aiming for 98% accuracy.
• Support in reviewing accounts and correcting information for AHCA.
• Report non-compliance issues and stay updated on coding guidelines and industry changes.
• Utilize coding software and resources per established guidelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience coding outpatient records. CPC or CCS certification required.
