The role you’ll contribute:

The Coding Quality Auditor, under the supervision of the Outpatient Coding Manager, is responsible for internal coding audits and clinical quality reviews. The auditor will work with the Outpatient Operations Manager to ensure data integrity, educate and train coding staff, and serve as a resource organization-wide on coding issues. Participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

• Codes and abstracts charts following ICD-10-CM conventions, Guidelines, and CPT Assistant, in accordance with organizational and payor requirements.
• Assists with departmental interactions to resolve issues promptly.
• Mentors and educates other coders.
• Discusses documentation and optimization issues with physicians and clinical staff, including querying for clarification or additional info.
• Adheres to AHIMA’s ethical coding standards.
• Reviews payer denials and maintains productivity standards, aiming for 98% accuracy.
• Supports billing and compliance processes, including reviewing and correcting information for AHCA.
• Stays updated on coding guidelines, industry changes, and reimbursement requirements.
• Uses coding software and resources per established guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years’ outpatient coding experience.
• CPC or CCS certification required.
