Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking an experienced OP Senior Coder to support Outpatient Coding AR, ensuring accuracy and timely coding across all OP service lines. The role requires strong ICD-10, CPT, and PCS coding skills, with Epic and 3M experience.

The position also focuses on QA reviews, dashboards to monitor trends, and collaboration with partner departments to streamline workflows. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with RHIT/RHIA or equivalent credentials encouraged.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive outpatient coding experience.
• Proficiency in all OP service lines and experience with Epic and 3M.
• Coding credential (RHIT/RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC) or equivalent licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Outpatient Coding AR to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Serve as OP coding SME to staff and partner departments.
• Conduct regular QA reviews to identify coding errors and trends; coordinate with training/education teams.
• Maintain minimum 95% overall coding quality in diagnostic, procedural, and modifier codes; production coding as needed.
• Mentor and lead staff; assist in prioritizing workload to improve AR performance.
• Collaborate with Vendor Relations and other departments to streamline processes and coverage.
