Job summary

Geisinger in Lewistown is looking for a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support. You will interact with patients, perform clinical duties, document in the electronic health record, and assist with clerical tasks. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are certified medical assistants, and ideally have some healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited 1-year Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support for physicians.
• Document patient information and vital signs via the rooming tool.
• Assist patients in preparing for visits and ensure safety.
• Prepare and administer medications as per policy.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist in lab functions.
• Participate in patient safety and quality improvement programs.
