Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support a decentralized patient-centered care model in the Florence area. The role performs multi-skilled duties under physician direction, including patient interviews, vital signs, and room preparation in outpatient settings.

Strong communication skills, a completed accredited medical assisting program, and BLS eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height) and records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Assists in examination and treatment under physician direction; uses basic computer skills.
