Job summary

MUSC Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care in Florence, SC. The CMA performs vital signs, assists in examinations, and records information in patient records, under physician direction.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, maintaining competencies, and communicating effectively. A high school diploma and accredited medical assisting program are required, with state-recognized certification preferred. BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care preferred.
• AMT/AAMA/NHA/MedCA or CMA/CCMA or NAHP certification required.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Maintains annual competencies and adheres to detailed medical instructions.
• Performs multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care.
