Job summary

The Clinical Pharmacist at Albert Einstein Medical Center oversees the medication distribution system within their area of responsibility and ensures each drug therapy is appropriate, effective, safe, and patient-centered.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient responses, preventing drug therapy problems, promoting hospital formulary compliance, training staff and precepting students, and supporting quality improvement initiatives across pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy or RPH; PA license required
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles for dosing
• Monitor patients for response to medications
• Ensure safety and effectiveness of drug therapy
• Promote formulary compliance and hospital policies
• Provide patient-centered care across age groups
• RP - Registered Pharmacist - PA license

Responsibilities

• Interacts with staff in line with hospital values
• Assures appropriateness of drug therapy and policy compliance
• Oversees distribution of medications within TJUH
• Supports quality assurance of Pharmacy services
• Trains staff (residents, interns, technicians, new pharmacists)
• Precepts student pharmacists and participates in development programs
