Job summary

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT, seeks an Outpatient Behavioral Health Psychiatric Technician to provide direct patient care and clinical support in ambulatory behavioral health programs such as Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Extended Day Treatment.

Role involves implementing individual behavior plans, facilitating groups, and supervising patients in the program milieu, with responsibilities across safety, documentation, and collaboration with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or extensive work experience in behavioral health settings.
• Bachelor's degree in behavioral health preferred.
• One year of experience in a behavioral health, residential, or school setting.
• CPI certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to participants in a developmentally appropriate manner that creates a safe, trauma free, accepting therapeutic environment.
• Provides case management support for patients as assigned by the clinical team, including collateral contacts related to insurance, entitlements, school and agency schedules, and appointments.
• Prepares clinical rooms for daily program and co-facilitate psychoeducation groups, taking attendance and assisting with behavioral management.
• Monitors patient behavior to assure safety for patients and staff throughout the program and during transport.
• Completes documentation for collateral contacts and psychoeducation/life skill groups meeting criteria.
• Attends multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and mandatory department/hospital meetings; completes continuing education as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
