Job summary

Solventum is seeking an Outpatient CDI Outsourcing Manager to lead outsourced engagements remotely in the United States. You will drive operations, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to ICD‑10‑CM/CPT and APC guidelines while improving performance and quality metrics.

You will collaborate with clients and vendors, manage performance, and uphold regulatory and privacy standards. Travel up to 50% may be required, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with 7 years outpatient CDI management experience, or HS diploma with 12 years experience.
  • RHIA or CCS certification required.
  • CCDS-O, CRC, or RAC certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of outpatient CDI experience.
  • ICD-10-CM/CPT and APC methodologies experience.
  • Clinical documentation improvement and revenue cycle workflows experience.
  • Quality-of-care measures experience (e.g., HEDIS, OQR).

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall operational leadership for assigned outpatient CDI engagements (supplemental and total outsource).
  • Partner with Consulting Services to support revenue goals and client satisfaction.
  • Directly lead and supervise outpatient CDI staff and provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote quality and continuous improvement.

Outsourced Engagement & Client Management
  • Provide overall operational leadership for assigned outsourced outpatient CDI engagements (supplemental and total outsource).
  • Partner with Consulting Services to support revenue goals and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for performance, quality, and vendor‑related issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contracted vendors and internal stakeholders.
Operational Excellence & Performance Management
  • Ensure outpatient CDI operations meet or exceed quality, productivity, and turnaround time targets.
  • Continuously monitor operational metrics, trends, and KPIs; identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for performance gaps or compliance concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to ICD‑10‑CM/CPT guidelines, APC methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
People Leadership & Development
  • Directly lead and supervise assigned outpatient CDI staff.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, training, and performance feedback to support professional growth.
  • Allocate work assignments, monitor progress toward objectives, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage employee‑related processes including compensation input, performance reviews, and policy enforcement.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Address policy violations promptly and consistently.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Your Skills and Expertise

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university with (7) seven years of experience in outpatient CDI management in a private, public, government or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND (12) twelve years of experience in outpatient CDI management experience in a private, public, government or military environment

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: RHIA or CCS certification

  • CCDS-O, CRC, or RAC certification

  • ICD‑10‑CM/CPT and APC methodologies experience

Work Location & Travel

Work Location : Remote-United States

Travel: Up to 50% [domestic/international]

Onboarding Requirement

To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on‑site onboarding during their initial days of employment. Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $125,600-$172,700, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
