Qualifications

• Must hold one or more coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Related experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required before start date.

Responsabilités

• Reviews records to determine diagnostic and procedural code assignments.
• Assigns charges for clinics/departments as appropriate.
• Communicates with supervisor on coding, compliance and documentation issues.
• Seeks clarification from providers to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
• Maintains up-to-date coding knowledge through education and literature.
