Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, GA, is seeking a Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for outpatient psychiatry. The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality psychiatric care to adults, including evaluations, medication management, and care coordination.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities, plus CME allowance and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current Georgia license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current prescriptive authority and DEA registration required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practices.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Document patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions accurately within the EMR.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and available community resources.
