Qualifications

• Must be Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of employment.
• One year of experience or knowledge in drug abuse recommended.
• CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards including infection control and patient care compliance.
• Experience triaging in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients regarding medications used in the treatment setting and side effects.
• Administer/dispense medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and DEA guidelines.
• Conduct urine drug screens as needed.
• Evaluate patients for intake, quarterly, annual, AWOL, or impairment.
• Document nursing progress notes and medical records as required.
• Participate in team meetings and provide professional observations.
