Job summary

Duke University Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Outpatient Abdominal Transplant Clinic. The APP will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult transplant patients across the pre- and posttransplant continuum in ambulatory settings.

Working within a collaborative transplant care model, the APP will support the Division of Abdominal Transplant Surgery by improving access, continuity, quality, and outcomes in a nationally recognized academic program at

Qualifications

• Demonstrated clinical competence in managing complex patients in an outpatient transplant setting.
• Strong analytical and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary transplant team.

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform focused physical exams, and synthesize data to guide care.
• Review diagnostic studies and imaging; develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage immunosuppressive and transplant-related medications.
• Provide longitudinal management of pre- and posttransplant patients; adjust plans as conditions evolve.
• Maintain documentation for care delivery, billing, and quality metrics.
• Support transplant care by improving access, continuity, and outcomes.

Education

Nurse Practitioner: Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Physician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
