Conservation Legacy is seeking a Helene Recovery Vegetation Management Crew Leader II based out of Old Fort, NC, to lead a vegetation management crew focusing on invasive species removal, hazard fuel reduction, and ecosystem health in Pisgah National Forest. The role supports Hurricane Helene disaster recovery efforts in Appalachian and Grandfather Ranger Districts with a demanding, field‑based schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ and have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Must hold a current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) or CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date.
• Experience managing invasive plant species and applying herbicide in the field.

Responsibilities

• Mentor assistant crew leader: provide feedback, growth opportunities, delegate responsibilities, and encourage leadership development.
• Train and supervise crew, ensure safety, and promote team cohesion and performance.
• Coordinate logistics with project partners and staff; manage daily crew activities and hours.
