Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Utility Tree Trimmer to support major electric utility providers. Your office is outdoors, you will climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, prune and remove trees safely, and work with a crew under a foreperson.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Required: valid driver's license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications when required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers safely.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.
