Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is hiring Unlocatable Utility Locating Technicians for multiple assignments across locations in the region. You will locate and mark underground utilities, read maps, and work with field teams to support excavation projects.

The role involves outdoor, day-time work with potential overtime and weekend hours. Candidates should be capable of long hours in varying weather and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years utility locating experience preferred.
• Ability to travel and work outdoors.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to locate requests within legal time limits.
• Mark utilities using APWA color standards.
• Read maps to identify underground utilities.
• Use hand tools to dig and clear terrain.
• Operate locating equipment and maintain documentation.
• Complete required paperwork for locates and excavations.
• Follow safety guidelines and project procedures.
• Coordinate with third-party contractors on site.
