Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is actively hiring Unlocatable Utility Locating Technicians for multiple locations in the area. You will locate and mark cables, pipes, and other underground conduits to protect utilities during projects, working in daylight, full-time positions with overtime as needed.

The job requires endurance for outdoor work, the ability to read maps, use specialized equipment, and maintain safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years of utility locating experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to travel and work in outdoor environments.
• Capable of operating a company vehicle and hand/power tools.
• Comfortable with laptop and Microsoft Office programs.
• Availability to participate in on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to locate requests within time limits.
• Mark utilities using APWA coloring standards.
• Read maps to identify underground utilities.
• Use hand tools to dig and clear terrain.
• Operate and maintain locating equipment.
• Complete paperwork for locates and line crossings.
