Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC in the United States is seeking a highly motivated locator to perform outdoor, independent field work. Training is provided, and you’ll work with a company vehicle to locate and mark underground utilities.

Daytime, full-time shifts are standard, with occasional overtime, weekend, and on-call duties as needed. No prior locating experience is required, though experienced locators are welcome to apply for advancement.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to work in confined spaces and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark utilities.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities safely and efficiently.
• Search for utilities in designated areas and document findings.
• Complete daytime, full-time locator activities.
• Meet 48-hour turnaround on many locates; work after holidays and some weekends as needed.
• Overtime, weekend shifts, and on-call shifts may be required.
