Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to join our field team in Virginia. The role focuses on organizing patrols, evaluating vegetation near energy corridors, and coordinating with landowners and agencies to plan vegetation work.

You will assess tree risks, apply ISA pruning standards, document findings, and ensure safety protocols while delivering high-quality service to clients in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• GIS software/technology and Microsoft Office proficiency; iPhone experience.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Organize patrol records, maps, and paperwork; maintain documentation.
• Review sites for endangered species, habitats, and vegetation compatibility.
• Patrol energy corridors on foot; identify vegetation for pruning/removal/protection.
• Classify work and apply ANSI line clearance standards; use herbicides where appropriate.
• Conduct Tree Risk Assessments and analyze growth rates.
• Mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions per client directives and ISA pruning techniques.
