Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions in Greenfield, MA is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to oversee field patrols along energy corridors, assess vegetation needs, and apply ISA pruning techniques per client standards.

You will engage landowners, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure safety and regulatory compliance while pursuing ongoing training and industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of GIS software and Microsoft Office; valid driver’s license.
• Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions; strong communication skills.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• ISA Arborist certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely patrol energy corridors, identifying vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection per Client standards.
• Conduct Tree Risk Assessments and analyze growth rates.
• Mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions per client directives and ISA/ANSI standards.
• Engage landowners and agencies to obtain permissions and communicate work plans.
• Audit contractor work for compliance with Client specifications.
• Participate in storm and emergency response as needed; perform other duties.
