Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to support vegetation management on energy corridors. This role combines field patrols, records organization, and coordination with landowners to ensure safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include identifying pruning or removal needs, using ISA pruning techniques, conducting risk assessments, and guiding contractors. A degree in forestry or related field and GIS experience are preferred, with a valid driver's license and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of forestry and vegetation management practices.
• Experience in outdoor field work and site inspections.
• Ability to read maps and use digital tools to identify property boundaries.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: Safely patrol energy corridors on foot; identify vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection per standards.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate work plans to property owners and agencies; obtain permissions.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: Recommend sustainable strategies; audit contractor work for compliance; document findings.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders and contractors; follow safety protocols.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm and emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
