ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join our field team in North Carolina. If you enjoy outdoor work, value independence, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role offers hands-on vegetation management with a focus on safety, customer service, and compliance.

You will perform pre-patrol prep, field patrols, landowner coordination, and compliance activities, using GIS tools and industry standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year minimum experience in electric utility vegetation management (UVM).
• Licensed Public Pesticide Operator (Public Utility) or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Knowledge of common computer applications and ability to learn new programs.
• Valid US driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and iPhone/iPad products.
• Ability to work alone outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps and paperwork; review work sites for endangered species and habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation for pruning/removal; conduct Tree Risk Assessments; apply ANSI line clearance standards.
