Job summary

ACRT, Inc. is seeking energetic Contract Utility Foresters to identify and evaluate trees along utility lines and coordinate crews across Virginia. The role supports line clearance, stakeholder coordination, and client reporting while traveling regionally.

Ideal candidates may have a forestry/environmental background or related experience, strong communication skills, and willingness to work in varied terrain with flexible schedules. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or related field, or 2 years utilities experience
• Experience in Utility Vegetation Management preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• GIS data collection software experience preferred
• Self-motivated, organized, production oriented
• Able to manage a geographic area for vegetation activities
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and time management skills
• Able to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines; submit inspection results with recommendations
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of line-clearance crews
• Discuss and negotiate crew access issues with stakeholders
• Serve as liaison between clients, crews, and customer
• Travel throughout Virginia with some overnight travel
