Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Utility Field Technician to perform field surveys and document overhead power-distribution infrastructure across designated service areas. This role is outdoors, requires travel within the region, and favors candidates who can work independently with minimal supervision.

Applicants should be comfortable driving, navigating rural locations, and using mobile devices and GIS tools to record data.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in utilities, power distribution, telecommunications, construction, surveying, GIS, or field data collection preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage daily assignments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of overhead power-distribution facilities.
• Locate, inspect, photograph, measure, and document poles, lines, transformers, and related infrastructure.
• Record pole conditions, equipment information, attachment details, clearances, and field conditions.
• Use maps, mobile devices, GIS-based applications, and data-collection tools to locate facilities and document information.
• Upload photographs, measurements, field notes, and other project data accurately.
• Plan daily routes and manage assigned work across the field area.
