Job summary

SYRACUSE UTILITIES LLC is seeking a general laborer to support utility and civil construction operations in outdoor environments. You will perform digging, trenching, shoveling, loading and unloading materials, and site cleanup while assisting with setup and breakdown under the Foreman’s direction.

Responsibilities include operating hand tools safely, maintaining daily records, and traveling to job sites. A valid license, OSHA 10, and the ability to pass drug and medical checks are required or

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification required at time of hire or within 90 days thereafter.
• 3 years experience in utilities, telecommunications, civil construction, or related field (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness to obtain (preferred).
• Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and medical card evaluation.
• Knowledge of basic construction safety practices.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English related to job duties and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Digging, trenching, shoveling, loading and unloading materials, setting structures, and site cleanup.
• Assists with job site setup, maintenance, and breakdown.
• Follows directions from the Foreman or Site Supervisor to support daily project activities.
• Safely operates hand tools and equipment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Works effectively as part of a crew in fast-paced outdoor environments.
• Maintains accurate timesheets and daily work records.
• Drive to and from job sites.
