Job summary

Lewis Services is seeking a Groundperson to support vegetation management for utility partners and clients. You’ll be on the right hand of tree crews, clearing vegetation and debris, and operating tools like chainsaws and chippers.

The role requires physical capability to hike, lift 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all weather. CDL preferred and herbicide applicator certification encouraged. ESOP company offering robust training and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Groundperson certification (or ability to complete).
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• CPR/First Aid certification provided by Lewis.
• Herbicide applicator certification (or ability to obtain).
• Team player attitude, adaptability and strong work ethic.
• Compliance with applicable state, local, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clear vegetation and debris from work sites near power lines.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and sprayers.
• Spot climbers from the ground and hand up tools.
• Assist with rigging and felling of trees.
• Protect colleagues and the public from hazards.
• Set up traffic control zones and direct traffic when needed.
• Travel frequently to different job sites.
