Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Tree Care Groundperson in Dulles, VA. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll join a large, employee-owned company focused on safety, client service, and greenspace stewardship.

You will assist climbers and crew, perform pruning and removal work, and operate equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts. We offer paid time off, 401(k) with company match, employee-owned stock options, health plan, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist/Tree Worker/Tree Care Safety Professional on state law

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers, foreman, and other crew members.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients, including pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood, installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection, and removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Be part of a progressive greenspace stewardship team.
