Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Tree Care Groundperson to join our outdoor team in Dulles, VA. You will assist climbers and crew members while performing pruning, removal, and maintenance work on trees in a safe, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and related certificates if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers, foreman, and crew members.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully; includes pruning, thinning and removing deadwood.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Be part of a progressive greenspace stewardship team in the industry.
