Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join our greenspace stewardship team in a full-time outdoor role. Your office is the outdoors, with daily opportunities to work on diverse tree care projects and to grow within a safety-focused environment.

You will climb, prune, and remove trees, install support systems, and operate a range of equipment while collaborating with a crew. Pathways for advancement and comprehensive training are available to dedicated team members.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS).
• Operate as an active crew member with the ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients.
• Includes pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy; installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection; removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
