City of New York invites applicants for a 12-week grant-funded part-time role with 35 hours weekly at Idlewild Park, Queens. You will support events, recruit and supervise volunteers, and assist with vegetation projects across NYC parks.

Role requires a high school diploma and 3 years of community work experience; starts Nov 2, 2026. Benefits include vacation and sick leave and free recreation center memberships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in community work or related activities.

Responsabilités

• Support service events, trainings, recruitment and workshops engaging volunteers and interns.
• Lead and participate in vegetation management, native plantings, trail work, erosion control and coastal clean-ups.
• Supervise volunteers and interns in outdoor settings, instructing on equipment use and safety.
• Support community engagement and planning for events by the Stewardship team.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; enter participant data in Excel and sketch work areas in ArcGIS.
