Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• College degree in Sports Management, Recreation Administration, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in public sector sports programming and sports program management or coordination is required.
• Knowledge of local sports community needs and resources.
• Proficiency in using management software and office applications.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Background check, drug and alcohol screening, and park board employment standards apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance athletic offerings.
• Oversee organization and administration of indoor and outdoor sports programs and leagues.
• Supervise program staff and ensure adherence to department standards.
• Coordinate scheduling of facilities and maintenance of equipment.
• Manage relationships with participants, parents, and vendors; uphold contracts and meet needs promptly.
• Organize and manage events, camps, and athletic programs aligned with department goals.
• Implement and monitor safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with marketing efforts to increase program visibility and participation.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Maintain records of operations, registrations, and outcomes for reporting.
• Manage budgets and prepare budget reports for Athletic Director.
• Attend all meetings as requested; collaborate with CPRST Board of Directors and City staff.
• Maintain professionalism and ethics in all interactions.
