Job summary

Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism is seeking a part-time fitness center assistant to join the wellness team. You will support the Fitness Supervisor, maintain equipment safety, and help orient new members on facility procedures.

The role emphasizes customer service, professional communication, and adherence to facility rules. Some duties include assisting staff, hosting orientations, and contributing to a clean, welcoming fitness environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of experience in fitness center customer service, clerical and/or sales, and/or fitness office functions required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass background/drug screening.
• Aspirations to become a fitness professional and knowledge of cardio and strength training equipment.
• CPR, AED, and First-aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the CWAC brand with high-level customer service for visitors and members.
• Assist the Fitness Supervisor with administrative and managerial tasks as needed.
• Keep fitness equipment in safe working order and arrange repairs as required.
• Schedule member orientations and equipment consultations with front desk staff.
• Conduct equipment orientations to raise member retention and ensure proper use of facility rules.
