Job summary

Civil Works Contracting seeks a Railroad Track Worker to perform construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair of railroad tracks and related infrastructure to support safe, efficient train operations. The role is outdoors in all weather conditions and follows established safety practices.

You will work with a crew to lay rails, replace ties, align tracks, operate hand and power tools, and report hazards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical tasks.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tracks, ties, switches, and ballast for damage, wear, or defects.
• Perform construction and maintenance activities including laying rails, replacing ties, and leveling and aligning tracks.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to complete track repairs and installation.
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations as established by the company and governing bodies.
• Respond promptly to track emergencies or service disruptions.
• Maintain track records and report any incidents or hazards to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
