Job summary

Premier PV is seeking an Injection Mold Design Engineer to lead design decisions for molded products used in outdoor PV applications. The role involves material selection, moldability assessment, and collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include mold design input, process-window analysis, and coordination with suppliers and test labs to support pre-compliance and certification efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years in injection molding, overmolding, tooling design, or molded-product development.
• Experience with engineered thermoplastics and outdoor-rated materials.
• Ability to interpret material datasheets and certification data (UL/RTI/CTI).
• Strong documentation discipline and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Support injection molding, overmolding, insert molding, and tooling design.
• Evaluate polymer/material systems for outdoor PV use.
• Review mold design inputs: gate location, runner strategy, venting, cooling, flash control.
• Perform or review moldflow analyses and process windows.
• Collaborate with suppliers, toolmakers, and internal teams on design decisions.
