Job summary

Premier PV is seeking an Injection Mold Design Engineer to lead materials selection, moldability, and tooling for our outdoor PV eBOS products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safe, reliable molded assemblies including harness components, connectors, and housings, while ensuring compliance with UL and other standards.

The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years in injection molding and a solid background in polymer materials, process development, and DFx for manufacturability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3-5+ years of experience in injection molding, overmolding, insert molding, tooling design, polymer material selection, or molded-product development.
• Experience with molded products used in electrical, outdoor, automotive, renewable energy, industrial, or high-reliability applications.

Responsibilities

• Support injection molding, overmolding, insert molding, resin selection, moldability, and molded-product architecture.
• Evaluate and recommend polymer/material systems for outdoor PV use (e.g., PPS, PPA, TPV, LSR).
• Review material properties (RTI, UL data, f1/f2 outdoor ratings, dielectric strength, CTI, flammability, aging).
• Develop tooling specifications, supplier RFQs, mold acceptance criteria, and first-article inspection requirements.
