The Madison Club in La Quinta, CA seeks an Outdoor Pursuits Attendant to provide exceptional member service across on-property outdoor activities. The role is hands-on, organizing and leading activities while promoting a culture of safety and enjoyment for members and guests.

Responsibilities include safety coverage for water activities, event facilitation, guest greetings, and supporting staff through daily operations. CPR certification is preferred, with a boating license considered a bonus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the guest service industry.
  • CPR certification is a plus; boat captain license is a bonus.
  • Certificates/qualifications preferred.
  • Hospitality experience desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Outdoor Pursuits SOP at all times.
  • Assist with safety on water activities and lifeguard duties.
  • Stock, clean, and prepare for members' excursions and activities.
  • Conduct weekly safety checks on Powerboat fleet to ensure SOP compliance.
  • Attend morning briefings and end-of-day shutdown as scheduled by management.
  • Support training and staff meetings; communicate with supervisors.
  • Maintain DLC Ambassador Perspective and adhere to Employee Handbook changes.
  • Be punctual and complete job assignments on time.
  • Stock control: assist with monthly stock takes of parts and tools.
  • Greet members, participate in activities, and facilitate events.

The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant will ensure that the highest level of service is offered to the members of our Club by providing the member with personal and professional service throughout the property when pertaining to any and all outdoor activities. The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant role is a very hands-on role and encompasses the organization, instructing, and encouraging of activities, and as much participation as possible in all activties on property. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Always Follow the Outdoor pursuits Standard Operating procedure.
  • Be on safety cover and lifeguard duties for on water activities.
  • Perform duties and tasks throughout the Club assigned such as but not limited to stocking, cleaning and preparing for members excursions and activities.
  • Carry out weekly safety checks on the Powerboat fleet insuring that all boats meet SOP guidelines.
  • Attend the morning briefing.
  • Attend the end of day shut down-Adhering to the schedule set out by management.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for Outdoor Pursuits-Communicate effectively with your supervisors and managers.
  • Always Maintain DLC Ambassador Perspective
  • Maintain adherence to and stay abreast of any changes of the Employee Handbook.
  • Need to be on time when starting a shift, prompt with each job assignment.
  • Stock Control: Help to implement monthly stock take/inventories of all parts and tools required for area as advised by OP Manager.
  • Greeting all members.
  • Participate in activities and games with members.
  • Facilitating sporting and special events.
  • Seating the members, moving chairs and umbrellas accordingly.
  • Supplying members with towels if necessary.
  • Keeping towels and suntan lotion stocked at stations
  • Helping members in and out of the water with water equipment- Insuring safety of members and children in and around the pools and beach.
  • Making bonfires.
  • Greeting and parking golf carts at Valet station.
  • Tending to members and guests utilizing Outdoor Pursuits areas,
  • Ensuring and maximizing member safety and enjoyment at all times.
  • Assisting members and guests in all activities.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the guest service industry.
  • CPR certification is appositive-Boat captains license a plus.
  • Certificates/qualifications preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality is preferred but not required –
Additional Requirements
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $20-$23 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
