Job summary

Family Farm and Home is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain 2 and 4 cycle engines and outdoor power equipment. You will consult with customers, estimate pricing, and guide the repair department to meet store expectations.

The role requires at least 1 year of small engine repair experience, welding and 12V wiring skills, and ability to lift 65 pounds. Flexibility for weekends, evenings, and holidays is essential; knowledge of retail systems and MS Word/Excel is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience with small engine and outdoor power equipment repair.
• Welding and 12V wiring skills; sales/retail program experience; strong communication; multitasking ability.
• Must be able to lift 65 pounds and stand for extended periods; flexible schedule including weekends/evenings/holidays; knowledge of retail computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote company mission and family values; deliver outstanding customer service.
• Take in, diagnose and repair 2 and 4 cycle engines (Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki, Powermore, Husqvarna).
• Diagnose and repair carburetors and fuel injection systems.
• Repair outdoor power equipment such as air compressors, power washers and chainsaws.
• Repair go carts, UTVs, and ATVs sold in-store.
• Diagnose hydraulics and CVT transmissions; ensure repair quality matches Store Manager expectations.
• Assist in loading customer purchases and in assemblies of power equipment and outdoor products.
• Maintain merchandising and store cleanliness; assist in receiving and back stock organization.
• Respond to safety issues and assist customers with in-store and online orders.
• Support training and development of peers; contribute to a positive work environment.
• Participate in promotions and advertising activities as needed.
