Job summary

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources seeks a Natural Resources Technician 2 for the Division of Forestry in Muskingum County, Blue Rock area. The role covers maintenance of facilities, grounds and equipment, and support for invasive species programs across state lands.

Training includes required pesticide handling under supervision and safety-focused field work throughout the year. Compensation starts at $21.48 per hour with planned increases to $23.65, plus possible COLA and longevity pay.

Qualifications

6 mos. training or 6 mos. experience in semi-skilled maintenance (electrical/plumbing/carpentry).
6 mos. training or 6 mos. experience in equipment safety practices.
6 mos. training or 6 mos. experience in using shop, hand & power tools.
6 mos. training or 6 mos. experience in operating mowers and trucks.
6 mos. training or 6 mos. experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Performs semi-skilled labor and maintenance for facilities, grounds and equipment.
Assists with invasive species work on state lands.
Applies chemicals under licensed supervision to control pests.
Provides general customer service and support for facilities and grounds.
Includes outdoor work, possible evenings or weekends and exposure to weather.
