Job summary

Idaho Forest Group is seeking a Scaler to measure and evaluate logs for processing, inventory and payment accuracy. You will ensure quality and conformity to state criteria while maintaining thorough records and reporting defects to the supervisor.

The role requires an Idaho Log Scaling Certificate, strong math skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Training and guidance will be provided to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Idaho Log Scaling Certificate required.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with scaling equipment and measurement techniques.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Pass drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
• Accurately measure logs, assess quality and grade following state board scaling criteria and company standards
• Maintain accurate records of measurements and assessments.
• Communicate quality defects to supervisor and resource team
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in inventory management and reporting activities.
• Provide training and guidance to junior scaling personnel as needed.
