Job summary

Pierce County Parks and Recreation Department seeks a Fantasy Lights Coordinator to oversee nightly operations for the popular holiday lights exhibit. You will assign staff, ensure safety, transport, and prepare the park each night for the event.

Role requires outdoor work in varied Washington weather, strong communication and leadership, and a commitment to customer service as you help create a fun, safe experience for visitors during the 11/20/26–1/3/2027 run.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while standing or walking for long durations.
• Ability to lift or move equipment to set up for events.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nightly event operations in alignment with established guidelines and policies.
• Ensure the safety of employees and guests within the park.
• Assign nightly staff positions and coordinate employee breaks.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly, ensuring that all incidents are properly documented and reported. Strong attention to detail is a must.
• Prepare the park for the event, ensuring all areas meet safety and operational standards.
• Communicate effectively with staff and supervisor.
• Maintain a high level of customer service, addressing guest concerns and ensuring a positive experience for park visitors.
