Job summary

SA-TECH at Fort Rucker, AL is hiring a Grounds Laborer to support the Aviation Gunnery Range Complex maintenance and other O&M tasks on Fort Rucker. You will perform mowing, hedge work, pruning, spraying, planting and basic repairs to structures and equipment, supporting range maintenance and ensuring safe, clean facilities.

Typical duties include vehicle upkeep, litter removal, and assisting with road, building and equipment repairs, under outdoor conditions with variable temperatures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working erosion control and grounds construction.
• Vehicle maintenance experience is desired.
• Current Alabama Driver’s License required; must be insured to drive company/work vehicles.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• All candidates will pass background screening including SSN, Driver Record and Criminal Background.
• Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports target maintenance activities for ranges.
• Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings (carpentry, plumbing, masonry, erosion repair).
• Keeps target locations clean and vegetation-free.
• Completes cleaning tasks in floors, windows, bathrooms and other areas.
• Operates material handling equipment to move material to/from trucks.
• Prepares material/equipment for packing, storage or removal.
• Performs vehicle maintenance including fluids, components and filters.
• Maintains vehicle appearance, fuels vehicles and logs fuel use.
• Maintains safety equipment and requests replacements when needed.
