Job summary

Hunter Army Airfield is seeking a Laborer to support Roads and Grounds operations. Responsibilities include trimming and felling trees with chainsaws and pole saws, mowing with riding mowers and tractors, hedging, pruning, planting, cleanup, and basic repairs to fences and outbuildings.

The role requires one year of grounds maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Georgia driver’s license. CDL is preferred and gate-pass access is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year general ground maintenance experience using power tools.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License; CDL preferred.
• Ability to maintain military gate pass access is required.

Responsibilities

• Trim trees, blocks trees, fell trees using chainsaws and pole saws.
• Cut grass using riding mower, tractor, or batwing mower.
• Trim hedges and edges around walks, flower beds, and wells; use powered clipper, weed eater, and edger.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape; use power tools.
• Plant grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Pick up leaves, litter; burn or cart away debris.
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, and outbuildings.
