Job summary

Brightpoint Community College in the Greater Richmond area invites applications for the position of Grounds Team Member. This role performs grounds and landscaping work to maintain a safe, attractive campus environment across Chester and Midlothian locations and on site at Chesterfield 041.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with telework options dependent on department needs. The position is designated as essential personnel and requires lifting up to 50 pounds, outdoor work in

Qualifications

• Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles, materials, equipment operation and safety practices
• Proficiency in operating a personal computer
• Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety standards
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to problem solve
• Requires lifting 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and respond as essential personnel

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds and landscaping to support a safe, attractive environment
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment and tools
• Maintain natural areas, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior signage
• Assist with classroom and office setups and mail deliveries
