Job summary

National Garden Service is seeking a Garden Center Merchandiser for a part-time, seasonal role at our Urbana, OH store. The position involves displaying and maintaining outdoor plants, watering plants, and ensuring signage and displays are up-to-date.

You will interact with store staff and customers and document visits using a mobile app. The ideal candidate enjoys physical outdoor work, can lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly, and has reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain.
• Lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs repetitively.
• Communicate effectively with store staff and customers.
• Document visits using mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Display a variety of outdoor plants
• Maintain product displays
• Water all plant materials
• Develop a watering plan with the floral department manager for additional support as needed
• Ensure proper signage is in place
• Maintain a safe and clean display area
• Remove and record expired plant material
• Interacting with store personnel and customers
• Develop a positive working relationship with store management and associates
• Complete report for each store serviced
• Document every visit using the Go Spot Check app

As a Garden Center Merchandiser, your workday will include:

• Display a variety of outdoor plants
• Maintain product displays
• Water all plant materials
• Develop a watering plan with the floral department manager for additional support as needed
