Legacy Engineering, P.C. is seeking a Construction Field Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team. This is a hands-on, outdoor role on active construction sites to verify that roads, buildings, and infrastructure meet specifications.

No prior testing experience is required as we provide training and pay for industry certifications. This position is ideal for someone starting a career in construction, engineering, or infrastructure inspection in the Fredericksburg area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Interest in construction, engineering, or field work.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 85 pounds and stay active throughout the day.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects.
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures.
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports.
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions.
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards.
